DESCRIPTION:Learn to Play Dungeons & Dragons (5e)\nWith DM Travis\nNew to D&D or tabletop roleplaying altogether? Rally forth and join us at Mana Cloud as we host a learn to play session of D&D with Dungeon Master (aka DM) Travis! This is a free session held once a month in which you will be taught some of the core fundamentals of tabletop roleplaying games (aka TTRPGs) and the world of D&D. You will have the opportunity to get a feel for game mechanics\, how to play a character\, and explore the game in a low-stakes environment in which you can ask questions & learn at your own pace. No experience\, materials\, or game knowledge required! \nAdditional Info:\nPre-registration is REQUIRED to allow the DM time to prep. The session will be cancelled if there are no signups by the start of the session day. To register\, use the form at the top of the page\, or mark as Interested in our Discord events. \nNote: Depending on email provider & settings\, your registration confirmation email may or may not go through to your inbox. We are still working to fix this issue. In the meantime\, all sign-ups through our website can be found/confirmed at the top of this page under the Currently Registered section\, which will only appear blank if there are no active sign-ups.  \nDue to time constraints\, these sessions use pre-made characters. Creating a custom character from scratch takes some time\, and thus would require a separate session (if not 2). For those interested in learning the basics of how to make a character\, please let us know and we’ll consider making it a future event. Regardless\, we recommend new role-players join this session and use a pre-made character to better understand how their stats and skills fit into the game\, and better help them to make their custom character in the future. \nAll info and materials to play can be provided to use for the session\, or players are welcome to bring in their own (examples include a set of RPG polyhedral dice\, writing materials for note-taking\, and/or the D&D Players Guide book). Outside snacks and drinks are welcomed in\, or may be purchased in-store. \nPlayers of all skill levels are welcomed to the table – from those completely new to the game\, to former players looking for a refresher to get back into TTRPGs\, to those wishing to accompany and help other new players along. Due to the complexity of the game\, these short sessions are intended for mature learners. However\, interested pre-teen and younger players may join with an older participant\, ideally with a family member wishing to learn along with them. \nThese are single sessions designed to give players a broader understanding of what to expect in a game like D&D\, but players are welcomed to join as many of these sessions as they would like to get comfortable. We encourage players to communicate with the DM if there is a particular aspect of the game they would like to further explore and understand. When you are ready to take the step into a real session\, we offer an ongoing campaign at the store every week (Cloudveil Adventures Guild) that is always recruiting new players. \nThis is a free event\, but as with any service\, players are welcomed to tip at the end of the session if they would like to thank their DM! \nQuestions?
